About ABMA

The Association of Business Management Academics (ABMA) has been founded and established as a prestigious United Kingdom professional body with worldwide centres in the United Kingdom, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Macau and China.

It was originally established in 1998 as "The Faculty of Chartered Corporate Secretaries and Administrators" and recently restructured as "The Association of Business Management Academics" to cope with its global development. (Incorporated Number 263496)

The Association is a membership organization offering qualifications and membership in the following categories:

  • FABMA Fellow of the Association
  • MABMA Member of the Association
  • AABMA Associate Member of the Association
  • Student Member of the Association
  • Affiliate Member of the Association

The Association subscribes to the Professional Code of Management Charter Initiative (MCI), a British Government-supported organization dedicated to raising and enhancing management standards in commerce, industry and the professions. The Professional Code is as follows:

  • The improvement of leadership and management skills.
  • The encouragement of continuous development.
  • The provision of a coherent framework for self-development.
  • Ensuring that management development is integrated with work.
  • The provision of access to training.
  • Encouraging managers and supervisors to gain relevant qualifications.
  • The strengthening of links with providers of management development.
  • A continuous review of progress towards all these goals.
